“Wherever darkness persists, light inherently works to cast it out.”*    *    *A cowboy leans back in his chair with a cigar in his mouth. He puffs the smoke out into the warm air. The sun shines down on his silver pistol which sparkles back. He sits in his watchtower deck looking out at the town. A few run down wooden houses over, an arch symbolizes an entrance to this quiet, secluded town.  The dust in front of the cowboy’s deck begins to shake. He turns his head to see a set of four horses galloping towards the entrance. Behind the horses is a big white carriage. The cowboy stands up at the...tVAone door

    Barbara Havers

I’m not quite sure why I love Barbara Havers as much as I do. I do like Endeavour Morse and Vera Stanhope a lot but not in the same way. I feel sorry for Adam Dalgliesh and Thomas Lynley and a little bit sorry for Cormoran Strike too, but I do enjoy them all very much.        Boone knelt at his wife’s grave. “I know, Clara, you never wanted to take up with a man that carried a gun, or took to whipping another man, but I’m determined Larry Barkley has a price to pay.”The mourners stood nearby waiting for their turn. “What’s he saying?” Chester asked down the funeral line. “Reverend, what’s he saying?”Reverend Kent was trying to protect his bible from the rain. He waved Chester to be silent. Charlotte slapped Chester’s hand to quiet him. “He’s talking to her spirit.”Boone stood by the open grave, waiting with a shovel as the town folk paid their respects.Morgan to...tVAone door
