I noticed it when I was eleven. My parents were getting a porce and Mr. McGonnegy said they had been unhappy since I was born. Whenever they fought, Mr. McGonnegy would just look at me and shake his head and say, “They used to be happy, boy. All your fault.”McGonnegy’s cat was just as mean as he was and hissed at me as I ran past his yard. My parents didn’t even stop me; I just bolted out of the dining room and burst out the front door. I ran just to run, to feel my feet punch the hard pavement. It was near midnight, and the street was dark. None of the houses had lightswww.onedoor.cc on, for none of the ot...IGVone door

    The unbearable winter calling

January 15th, of 20221Sitting here, in my wooden rocking chair, I can hear a calling, deep inside of this old soul. An unbearable calling, to be exact. One that you simply can’t resist to not ignore. Sitting alone by my cabin window, with a cup of hot tea, admiring the frost growing on my window, seeing the snow take wing with the wind, the trees dance with the breeze, it's almost like I am living in a child's dream. Seven hours away for seven years now; only photos taped to my wall to remind me of those eyes.  That was the first time I said goodbye. After Jenna left, I found myself wandering; helplessly alone. I chose paths without direction and blindly leapt forward. I had not been looking, but I found a friend. Katrina - a companion I’d take for granted for the next eight years. She, and a handful of others, became a...IGVone door

    Heaven in the Honeysuckle

“I think I spent at least a quarter of my life here.”“Pfft, that’s not a lot, Axel.”“Twenty-two years old? You bet your ass a quarter of my life is a long time.”Jo chuckled and looked out onto the field. It was history, overgrown with weeds, the towering wire fences thick with honeysuckle and spidery green vines. Sad to look at really, like an abandoned building. But, she knew that it meant much more to Axel than it ever did to her. “Dad would bring me down here to practice even if we didn’t have a game coming up.”He snorted and brushed a hand through his scraggly mane of honey blonde hair.“Fu...IGVone door
