I wrap my fingers tightly around the clinging plastic of the trash bag, pull it open as wide as it’ll go, and watch him dump the remnants of our happiness into it.His large arms twist and flex unnecessarily as he shovels extra hors d'oeuvres and scraps of entree into the bag. His upper lip is a thin white line, stretched tight below frowning eyes. The faint and smoky gleam of the first stars illuminates our dining room. The windows are open to the still air, mingling the scent of grass and dew with the smell of recently extinguished candles. Near-empty glasses of wine sit with little pools of ...lARone door

    50's Love

"Hey, honey?" Linda says as she takes the last step on their old creaky wooden stairs. "Look what I found." She smiles as she sits down at their white and cute blue table. Then Tom walks over and sees that Linda is holding an old photo from the late fifties. A group of teenagers are smiling in the picture. One boy is holding a girl in his arms while they smile happily. We had to skip this year though. My eyes drift to the grey skies and water droplets falling outsid...lARone door

When Jillian moved to the small town of Smithville, she was hoping for a new start. The house she moved into could only be described as having charm. She had rented it cheap. The home had two bedrooms, one bath, a small living room, a kitchen, and an attic. Since it was just her, it was more than enough house. The paint was chipped in places, the wooden floors creaked and were hazardously uneven in some places, and who knew the last time the foundation, electric, or plumbing had been looked at. Jillian knew the first time it rained, the roof was sure to leak in several places. Still, she fell...lARone door
