Year: Unknown I enter the gates with nothing but my horse and my hat. I see only a dozen or so buildings one of which is bar, I make my way to it. As I tie my horse down I see few people, they don't stare but they also don't keep their eyes to themselves. I get the feeling that people don’t pass through here often. As I enter I hear a chorus of grunts and moans, the bar tender, without looking up, asks " What would you like?” I slowly walk toward him and respond “ whatever is cheap” I sit down and he hands me a mug of something not quite yellow but not quite brown. My life turned upside down

I look down at my nails and wince. Amelia and I got back from our nail appointment less than a half hour ago and my cuticles are already bleeding again. I’m a little high strung about the party at Elijah’s tonight. Mia had never quite understood it, unlike the other daughters, she had never felt the imperceptible pull, but the girl who had walked from the sea only to sacrifice herself b...0RKone door

    The Deal

I made a deal. I know, I shouldn't make deals--but I was never a good gambler, and I hardly thought twice about the price of my pay.White foam crests around the soft lines of my legs, cool water rushing onto my skin as I ascend from the waves. I blink once, to try and recollect the sudden flush of light submerging my vision, then again, to survey my reality. A wave crashes against my back, nudging me forward. My knees dig into the surface and I grip my fingers into the sand coiling under me to try and steady myself. The beat of my heart is so quick, the pounding in my ears melts into the harsh...0RKone door
