  • La Lune

The Moon, it’s a planet and the Earth has just one. Other planets have several moons, Mars has two little moons. I wonder what that’s like? I can see in my imagination’s eye, Martians sitting on their verandas, sipping whatever it is that Martians drink. I envision a filmy grey smoke dancing above their cups filled with blue liquid, and they would be looking up into the sky at their twin moons wondering about the inhabitants on other planets. About Henry

The new house was big and old, and right now it was full of packed boxes, disorganized furniture, and several unshaven moving men. Henry went off to find his bedroom.“Follow the stairs to the top,” his mother told him, kissing him on the cheek, a practice he allowed only when they were alone. It was funny, the house didn’t look this tall from the outside.Reaching the top and finding a tall set of windows, he looked out over an expanse of thickly wooded hills. “Wow,” Henry said softly. When his dad was around, they sometimes took day-long hikes in the woods just east of Seattle. They would set o...uStone door

    Ellen's Decision

The bus almost always came on time, but if it was late Ellen would still make it to work well before nine. Her apartment wasn’t great, but in seven years she would own it outright. Every couple years she got a small raise. At work that day she prepared for a birthday party in the conference room. Darla from engineering was ...uStone door

    Underdog

Underdog“The waters wear the stones.” –Job. XIV. 19The problem is, I’ve always rooted for the underdog. The scrappy, stubborn, sneaky underdog who always gets back up and never throws in the towel. Pick a cliché; if it involves underdogs, I’m digging it. Maybe it’s because I’ve seen Rocky too many times. Maybe because I’m a not-afraid-to-cry romantic who still believes in The American Dream. Maybe because I’m just a stubborn little bulwww.onedoor.ccl of a man who loves other stubborn little bulls that never stop charging at the giants. Maybe it’s just because I’m a Cubs fan, but whatever the cause, it’s a p...uStone door
