ONCE UPON XANARUS            The sun was warm as Jaymel left home and started his daily trek to school.  A sweet melody from nearby birds added to the pleasure already derived from the sun’s greeting and he slowed his pace to savor the moment since he was early and should have no problem arriving on time for the Premier Quadrant.            Today will be a happy day he thought while finding a comfortable position for his school data that he carried in a small satchel his mother made for him.  He could often tell whether or not it would be an enjoyable day merely from the initial events that ev...Blzone door

    Strangers in the Park

The sun was beginning to make its descent as Chloe and Michael walked to the end of their street, but the air was still heavy with the heat of the day. “Man, they should have done this at least a couple hours from now. I’m sweating already. But I guess people do have kids and can’t be out that late. Yet, something inside of me still feels like I am that little boy trying desperately to get his mother’s attention. Like I am still waiting for her to look at me and say she is proud o...Blzone door

    Someone's Dad

The frigidness of the banks marble floor against Paul’s cheek was softened by short hot breaths, sweet from the waffles that he had eaten earlier.   A tiny hand gave his a squeeze. He squeezed back, three times. Boots squeaked, muffled voices clamored over an alarm, an elderly woman by a fake ficus tree started sobbing.“Da?” Caleb whispered, his voice shaking.“Just keep your head down and close your eyes.”“Ok Da.”They turned their heads towards the banks floor, uncomfortably flattening their noses. Paul's tongue ran along the inside of his cheek, irritated and raw from nervous chewing on the i...Blzone door
