Going South
We were practising again today. All the experienced ones started calling out and we answered. We all sat and watched the Great Ones for our cue. And then all of a sudden they rose up as one and my family and friends and I followed. We seemed to be dancing through the air. I could feel a magnetic pull as we moved side to side, up and down. It felt so exhilarating and powerful to be part of the group. There was so much noise and air flowing around us and then, just as quickly as it had started, we all landed in a tree again and sat quietly. This practicing has been going on since the air has bee...
Night Out
Night OutIt was a chill winters night, pitch black. There was very little light to be seen by. Street lights in the distance provided an electrical glow, projecting unnatural yellow light out into the dark. It rained a little. Nothing heavy, just a light drizzle.A young couple walked in the dark. The shorter of the two walked a few feet ahead, taking quick steps. The sounds of her heels clacking against the ground rang out into an otherwise quiet night."Urgh! I hate the rain! It always ruins my hair!"The man, a few paces back, took long relax strides. Outside wasn’t safe. He’s telling lies I wanted to hear, but they’re lies nonetheless. I can feel it. The trees are ablaze with red-decked flames, embers shooting off and swirling, purple and orange and yellow and bright into the dusk-painted horizon. There’s no one hurt, there’s no one ma...
A witches brew
Stevie Nicks Gold dust woman blared out of the stereo speakers. This song had such a witchy vibe to it. It was perfect to listen to while I concocted one of my brews. Especially since my brew was to ease heartache. I threw in the cinnamon stick, which created an amazing smell. I stirred the brew, simmering away in my caldron. I like to use my athame to stir, I felt it gave a magical sharpness to the brew. The brew simmered away for five minutes and it was time to remove it from the fire. I grabbed the cauldron and let it sit on my altar. Once it cooled down, I would perform the spell...
