“Come on, one more drink!”“Please?”I have a friend hanging off each arm, both begging me to stay and both already wasted.“I’m sorry, the last bus is due to arrive and you know taxis to my place are extortionate.”My two best friends, Susan and Molly, had convinced me to go drinking. Susan has just landed a dream job at a major radio station, and Molly just announced that she and her partner were moving in together. They wanted to celebrate their lives being on track and happily chugging forward.Mine, on the other hand, had taken a detour off the rails and was stranded in the middle of nowhere.I...NCvone door

A Sailor on the Endless Sea of Stars

A Sailor on the Endless Sea of Stars “I was a sailor. I sailed the endless sea of stars, hopping from galaxy to galaxy, from star cluster to star cluster, from star system to star system, even from Universe to Universe, looking for that rarest of phenomena, self-organised matter. So they made them into duplexes. Some converted the garages to make a lit...NCvone door

    Blueheart

I gallop on the steep pathway that leads to Red Hearts Inc. The dewdrops on the rolling meadow down the slope cradle the newborn sunshine in them. On reaching the plateau sprouting the giant facility, I canter towards the entry gate. The blooms have fired up the trees close by and fill my breath with fragrance. Only after I punch in do I ease into a trot and make my way along the cold labyrinth of the facility. I manage to take my position in the assembly line before Mr. Eagleye begins his rounds. In the pision where I work, the demand is high. On average, we get orders for around 3000 hearts ...NCvone door
