It was mid-December when it happened. The cold frigid wind scratched at Hail’s face while she attempted to dig up some Earth fire crystals. She was trying to provide for her family and for her Village which was dying completely. There was no real way that she could finally go home if she didn't find a fire Crystal… because then there would be no warmth and then they would all die from extinguishment and cold. It was a harsh reality but at the same time it was the only one she knew so she had to endure it while she dug for scraps of fire crystal. It had been exactly 4 years 7 months and 3 day...ZwUone door

    The King of Ephyra

“Pick up your bag, Syd.” a voice said, “Get up.  Let’s keep going.”Syd.  His brain registered the word.  No, not a word, a name.  Who’s Syd?  He focused on the owner of the voice. Is that Syd?  No.  Can’t be.  He’s talking to Syd.  Why’s he so tall? No.  Wait.  Not tall, just standing.  Uphill.  Backlit.  Sun’s behind him.  So bright.  He winced and looked down, away from the sun.  That’s better.  A dirt path.  The voice belonged to a man standing on it.  His eyes kept tracing the path, following it down till he found his feet.  They were sprawled out in front of him.I’m sitting, he realized.  H...ZwUone door

When I told my friends what I was about to do, they thought I was crazy. Especially as I’ve never done anything spontaneous or brave in my t...ZwUone door

In another day we’ll be out of soup, out of fuel, and down to nothing but four Clif Bars: one chocolate chip, two white chocolate macadamia nut, a peanut butter. I hate peanut butter. Until the rescue, I’m thinking maybe go with half a bar each day. There has to be a rescue.Phil and I are lying in our snow cave, and we have been, three days now. Body heat in the tight space keeps us warm, but the heat also melts the low white ceiling which d...ZwUone door
