The alarm woke me up to a house in absolute silence… meaning sometime in the night the power had gone out. “Wow perfect timing” I quipped to my cardiac alert dog Ginger Pie. (or Geepers! Depending on the www.onedoor.ccoccasion) Ginger had her own problems, with the power went the heat. I threw some wool socks on and went down a few stairs of my little house to start a fire in the fireplace just to thaw out some. Ginger gratefully curled up by the fireplace while I made a cup of tea.  I looked at the clock while grabbing a gluten free Biscotti. “Oh my gosh! Is that the time?” I said under my breath. I grabbe...eQsone door

Sitting at the table reading. She didn't want to think about where she was and how she got there. Something she will never understand is how either of her parents thought this was a solution for her. Kick her to the curb, homeless. Her three younger brothers never had to do this. They never had to worry if they asked for something if it would cost them a place to sleep that night. Turning the page of her book, she shook the thought from her mind. She didn't want to think about it right now. She was at a shelter. She would be ok. She could defend herself if she had to and so far people have lef...eQsone door
