I started looking for odd ping jobs as an excuse to get out of the city in the summer. It gets muggy. There’s no air conditioning. And all anybody wants to do is to sit at Chuck’s and drink. I’m a fish out of water, I guess.  It’s not that I prefer the depths of the Puget Sound to people, but there are times when I need a break. And summer in Seattle is one of them. In the winter, when the one cloud covers everything like we’re looking up at the underside of a great dome, it’s easy to while away the hours in a dark and moody pe. In the summer, I feel trapped.  “I can’t believe you’re doing t...zU7one door

    The Giant Cephalopod

The year is 1798、 The only thing I ever wanted since I was a kid was to get a glimpse and if lucky, capture this creature that I have been hearing for a long time. Fact or fiction? No clue. I would have to see it for myself to believe it. The last known sight reported was in 1776, south to New Zealand to my knowledge. There is a chance that if I remain I can intimidate and newww.onedoor.ccgotiate a decent payment for myself. But, I’ve caught a glimpse of the most magical treasure. What kind of pirate would I be if I settled for “fair negotiations”? Getting there won't be easy. Countless perils stand between me and my quarry. And that’s not taking into account the dreadful beast th...zU7one door

    Blue Heart

Wind whipped through my hair, tangling it about my face even as I twisted it and tucked it back under my hat again. The height of the crow’s nest exaggerated everything. The sharp bite of the wind, the pitch and the sway of the ship. I wrapped one arm around the mast, even as I leaned out over the ocean. The sea is a temperamental creature, but she wears her heart on her sleeve. Some days she is a tame beast, glassy and clear. Other days she is exuberant, blue and white-capped, playing in the sunshine. Some days she is angry, dark and fomenting, slapping the hull of the ship. Today she...zU7one door
