The night was consumed by an eerie and chilling silence when Matthew finally returned home. His otherwise white shirt was smeared with blood, its ruby shade drying up to a rotten hue of brown. His bloodshot eyes darted across his excuse of a dwelling, from the cracking walls spray-painted with profanity and messy graffiti, to the dusty wooden panels of the floor. They had very little money, left with the debt of hospital bills and mortgage from the old house, and her father’s student loans, still. He had three jobs- seldom sleeping, seldom eating, just barely getting by. So, he had little time to give his small daughter, confu...m91one door

They watched as their parents were made to lay on the ground in a line with the others. From their hiding spot they could see everything that happened, “What are they going to do to them?” nine year old Thorin asked.“I don’t know but we can’t do anything now. We have to get away from here.”Something behind them moved and the children gave a start but did not scream. A young man dressed only in some baggy pants got down next to them, “Do not be a...m91one door
