The librarian shot her a sympathetic smile as she closed the door. This wasn’t the first time Anabelle had been locked in with her studies, and it was unlikely to be the last. There was something both serene and disconcerting about being alone in here. The quiet, the dim lights, the soft hum of the air conditioner when it cycled on – these Anabelle found comforting. But she couldn’t let her thoughts wander, or she would overthink the nook she sat in into www.onedoor.cca tomb. “I’ll get out one day,” she told herself as she shifted in the hard wooden chair. “This is not my final resting place.” She had...AcLone door

    The Great Library Caper

     - The Great Library Caper Suzanne Marsh“No, I am not going to take you to the library, you knew when those books were due. Your choice is return them and pay the fine out of your allowance.” Some choice I thought. I was not going to pay a fine to the crumby library, I would be paying Miss Higginbottom’s salary; that simply would not do. She went to a retirement home and the cats came to me. Sort of exchanging one old lady for another not-quite-as-old. Their names are Louis and Harry. One thing I've always done that I enjoy that takes a lot of time is knitting. I s...AcLone door

There is something about a still ocean. You have this intrinsic understanding that such a large body of water can’t be static. It has to move, it has to live, but sometimes before dawn when the wind has dropped away and warm air feels thick enough to carve with a machete, the ocean is as frozen as the surface of an ice cube. As if, despite the tropical heat, the ocean has solidified and has invited you to take a precarious step, to test your weight on its flawless surface.I couldn’t help but stop at the end of the dock and watch the ocean for a moment, enjoying the stillness, the quiet. The ha...AcLone door
