    Swim practice ends behind schedule nowadays, to the point of where the stars are young and frantically zigzag through the air. We also note the tiny dots could be satellites, orbiting at a snail’s pace. We never know. And to be honest, it doesn’t matter to me whether the kids leaning out their windows wish on a hot ball of galactic plasma or a hunk of metal and antenna.     Sun Goes Down

    There are different roles we play in life. How with each person we share a relationship with, only know a variation of our true selves. Proportions. Not the whole but the unfinished puzzle image of missing pieces. Where the incomplete design upon inspection represents the parts we decline revealing. We are willing to give some of this but none of that, to which those around us can have a false sense of knowledge of who we are.     The Shirley Doll

    My mom passed away at age 94, having lived a full and beautiful life. After taking some time to grieve, I pulled myself together and, as Trustee for her estate, started taking care of her affairs. In different waves, I worked with my sister and brother and also with my own kids to meticulously go through all of her belongings. My mom was very organized, there were no piles of old magazines, or stacks of unopened mail lying around.
